After a successful pilot period, we are pleased to announce that the aPoint Selection Model© and aPoint Evaluation Model© are now immediately available for commercial use by HR professionals and hiring managers.   Both aPoint models are available through a SaaS-based delivery on our website at www.apointmodel.com.

The aPoint Selection Model

As a People Manager or HR professional, you comb through mountains of resumes, read countless cover letters, and participate in interviews, reference checks, and test administration.  After a consideration of the candidate, along with the hiring manager, many hiring decisions are usually made through gut choice.  But when the costs to onboard a new employee number in the tens of thousands, is gut feeling enough?

The aPoint Selection Model adds demonstrable value to your hiring process by employing a merit-based approach, which can include an element of gut feel.  In the model, you select which evaluation metrics are most important (portrayed as a weighted percentage).  Then, you compare your narrowed down field of candidates against each other and achieve a weighted priority and score.

With the aPoint Selection Model, hiring choices are both objective and subjective.  Inputs into the model help create a priority score, comprising predetermined and self-defined criteria, which ultimately helps you select the best candidate. Reports to document your hiring choices are included in the features of the software.

Moreover, you have the ability to refine your model for different positions, candidate types, and hiring managers.   Data from your selected candidate is also included in the aPoint Evaluation Model, which helps measure the efficacy of your hiring decisions. Stay tuned for the release of the aPoint Leadership Model and aPoint Sales Development Model in February 2017.

By some estimates, 20% of all new hires result in failure or regret. The average direct financial cost per recruit averages around $15,000. aPoint minimizes the risk of faulty recruitment, which ultimately makes your company more profitable and a better place to work.
